PEACE FOR GEORGE FLOYD

June 2nd, 2020.

Welcome to our website, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about our work. We are a team of filmmakers and storytellers dedicated to capturing important moments in our city's history, particularly those that showcase our humanity.

One such moment was June 2, 2020, when over 70,000 Houstonians united and marched peacefully to show solidarity for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others who have lost their lives to social and racial injustice in our country. This historic day will forever be in our memory as a symbol of unity, strength, and peace.

We were on the ground that day, capturing the raw emotions and powerful messages that filled the streets of Houston. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Houstonians came together to declare that change must come!

Our film is a glimpse into the events that occurred on this historic day. It captures the powerful images, sounds, and emotions that filled the streets of Houston and serves as a testament to the resilience and strength of our city. Our hope is that this film will help to keep the memory of this historic day alive and to inspire others to join in the fight for social justice.

OUR PLEDGE

As a team of artists and activists dedicated to using our art to bring attention to important social issues, one of our most significant projects to date is this image titled "PEACE FOR GEORGE FLOYD."

This photograph was taken during a peaceful march in Houston, TX, and has since become an iconic symbol of strength, unity, and peace in the City of Houston and beyond. It has also been instrumental in raising awareness about the ongoing struggle for racial justice in America.

In February 2022, the image officially ascensioned into the City of Houston's Civic Art Collection, which was a significant milestone for us. The image highlights the vital role art can play in advancing social justice causes.

We designed exclusive posters and postcards with the help of the Menil Collection, that feature the photograph surrounded by the names of Black Americans who have tragically died at the hands of police. Proceeds from the sales of these posters and postcards will be donated to a local organization that actively contributes to the empowerment of all people and the social movement against racial injustice.

We are deeply grateful for the support we have received from the City of Houston, The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and the Menil Collection.
